IT’S TIME TO
Par Four Golf Club was established in 1968 by nine Black men in Pensacola, Florida. At a time when they could work and caddie at many golf courses, they were limited to playing on only a few public ones.
The founders were motivated by their shared love of golf, a commitment to expanding its reach within the Black community, and the aspiration for equitable access.

In 1976
Incorporated in 1976, Par Four Golf Club launched its annual two-day stroke play tournament, designed to promote the game and connect with Black golfers across the South. Similar tournaments thrived in cities like Mobile, Montgomery, and New Orleans.
Par Four Golf Club's tournaments were incredibly popular, attracting over 200 golfers annually, plus a waiting list. Their database held over 800 names, including players from across the country, even Seattle.

In 1996
Annual tournament proceeds support Pensacola charities. In 1996, Par Four Charities, Inc., a 501(c)3 foundation, was established to streamline charitable giving. Par Four Golf Club also provides direct financial support to community causes.
Youth were a key focus for Par Four Charities, which ran a Summer Youth Golf Clinic from 1996 to 2003. Members provided free golf instruction to a diverse group of children, and the charity also supported the local Boys & Girls Club with uniforms and tournament fees.

In 2003
Following the closure of our summer clinic's facility, we found another venue. In 2003, Par Four Charities took a leading role in supporting the creation of Pensacola's First Tee Program. First Tee has since become a key beneficiary of our annual tournament, with us funding youth participation. Many of our members also serve as coaches and board members.
Our members find working with youth incredibly rewarding, and over the years, strong friendships and valuable life lessons have emerged. Many of these lessons, beyond golf, focus on shaping responsible citizens.

Thank you for your donation, enabling nine students to take their GED tests. This opens doors to college and jobs, inspiring future generations. Your generosity is deeply appreciated.
